Non-coding variants or single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) play pivotal roles in orchestrating pathogeneses of polygenic diseases, including hypertension (HTN) and diabetes. Renin-angiotensin system (RAS) components-renin and (pro)renin receptor [(P)RR]-maintain homeostasis of body fluids.
