Abstract Identifying and sorting highly tumorigenic and metastatic tumor cells from a heterogeneous cell population is a daunting challenge. Here, we show that microfluidic devices can be used to sort marker‐based heterogeneous cancer stem cells (CSC) into mechanically stiff and soft subpopulations.
