Abstract Fused in sarcoma (FUS) is a predominantly nuclear multifunctional RNA/DNA‐binding protein that regulates multiple aspects of gene expression. FUS mutations are associated with familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (fALS) and frontotemporal lobe degeneration (FTLD) in humans.
