BACKGROUND: Axonal guidance disorders are characterized by white matter tracts with an anomalous course, failure to cross the midline, or presence of anomalous white matter tracts. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is a suitable noninvasive, in vivo neuroimaging tool to study axonal guidance disorders.
