OBJECTIVES: Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is an autoinflammatory disease caused by mutations in MEFV. Mutations in exon 10 are associated with typical FMF phenotypes, whereas the pathogenic role of variants in exons 2 and 3 remains uncertain.
