OBJECTIVE: To identify novel dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) causing genes, and to elucidate the pathological mechanism leading to DCM by utilizing zebrafish as a model organism. BACKGROUND: DCM, a major cause of heart failure, is frequently familial and caused by a genetic defect.
