Celecoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 inhibitor, is used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. The predominant hepatic metabolism of celecoxib to celecoxib carboxylic acid (CCA) is mediated mainly by CYP2C9.
