BACKGROUND & AIMS: In a study of 266 chronic hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg)-positive patients, 23 experienced hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) loss with up to 5 years of tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) treatment.
