Long QT syndrome (LQTS) is a congenital abnormality of cardiac repolarization that manifests as a prolonged QT interval on 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs). The syndrome may lead to syncope and sudden death from ventricular tachyarrhythmias known as torsades de pointes.
