Polymorphism of the prion protein gene (PRNP) is usually associated with scrapie susceptibility or resistance. To determine the variability of PRNP in Chinese indigenous goat breeds, we isolated genomic DNA from goat blood and amplified and sequenced the coding region of the gene.
