TAR DNA binding protein-43(TDP-43) and fused in sarcoma/translocated in liposarcoma protein (FUS/TLS) have been found to be associated with two neurodegenerative diseases - amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
