Multiple studies have indicated that SLE incidence exhibits a strong genetic background. We studied the frequency of the natural killer group 2, member D (NKG2D) receptor Thr72Ala (rs2255336) polymorphism in patients with SLE (n = 243) and controls (n = 502) in a sample of the Polish population.
