We studied steroidogenesis and the regulation of Leydig cell-specific gene expression in primary cultures of highly purified postnatal fetal Leydig cells (PFLCs). PFLCs activated by hCG and (Bu)(2)cAMP demonstrated transient capacity to produce testosterone (T) in vitro.
