The distribution of an adhesion receptor from the integrin family was mapped in cultured mammalian retinal pigment epithelial cells (RPE), and in primate RPE cells in vivo, using antibodies to the human fibronectin receptor (FnR) in conjunction with indirect immunofluorescence and immunoelectron microscopy.
