Intracellular proteolytic activities of B. megaterium KM occur soluble in the cytoplasm and periplasm and insoluble in the membrane. Two proteolytic enzymes were found in the cytoplasmic fraction by gel filtration on Sephadex G 150 and by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
