Previously we demonstrated that chondrocyte ECM synthesis and mitotic activity was dependent on scaffold composition when cultured on uncoated PCL scaffolds (pPCL) or PCL composites containing hyaluronan (PCL/HA), chitosan (PCL/CS), fibrin (PCL/F), or collagen type I (PCL/COL1).
