BACKGROUND: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex multifactorial disorder involving a number of genetic and environmental factors. Adipocyte-fatty acid-binding protein (FABP4) is an adipokine regulating systemic insulin sensitivity, lipid and glucose metabolism.
