OBJECTIVE: Pegylated interferon (PEG-IFN) plus ribavirin (RBV) combination therapy is now a popular treatment for patients with chronic hepatitis C; however, the reported sustained virologic response (SVR) rate remains at nearly 50% in genotype 1b infected patients.
