The Ca(2+)-ATPase of sarcoplasmic reticulum reacts with N-cyclohexyl-N'-(4-dimethylamino-1-naphthyl) carbodiimide (NCD4) yielding a fluorescence labeling that interferes with calcium binding to activating and transport sites of the enzyme and, thereby, with Ca(2+)-dependent ATPase activity.
