The Bacillus subtilis yrkP gene encodes a response regulator of a two-component regulatory system of unknown function. A previous DNA microarray experiment suggested that multicopy yrkP greatly enhanced the expression of yrkN, the ykcBC operon, and yrkO, which encodes a putative transporter.
