The Schizosaccharomyces pombe Rad4/Cut5 protein is essential for DNA replication and checkpoint control. We have analyzed the behavior of the protein during unperturbed DNA replication, in different replication and checkpoint mutant backgrounds and in response to DNA-damaging agents.
