We have discovered distinct, characteristic differences in the thermodynamic signatures of tryptophan binding by trp RNA-binding attenuation protein (TRAP) from two different bacterial species. The TRAP 11mer ring binds 11 molecules of tryptophan at symmetry-related sites.
