Two Pseudomonas aeruginosa mutants exhibiting increased expression of ampC were selected during exposure to ciprofloxacin. These mutants also exhibited significant increases in mexCD-oprJ expression, but further studies failed to show a link between the increased expression of mexCD-oprJ and ampC.
