Sarcomatoid carcinomas (SC) of the lung are a heterogeneous group of nonsmall cell lung carcinomas (NSCLC) containing a sarcoma or sarcoma-like component. SC may represent an epithelial neoplasm undergoing divergent tissue differentiation originating from a single clone.
