Mucin-depleted foci (MDF) are considered as useful biomarkers in rat colon carcinogenesis. The purpose of the present study was to examine the mechanism(s) underlying rat colon carcinogenesis induced by 1,2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH) plus 1% Dextran Sulfate Sodium (DSS).
