Rho proteins are members of the Ras superfamily of small GTPases. In higher eukaryotes these proteins play pivotal role in cell movement, phagocytosis, intracellular transport, cell-adhesion, and maintenance of cell morphology, mainly through the regulation of actin microfilaments.
