Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) is a clonal myeloproliferative disorder that is characterized by the presence of a reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 9 and 22 and results in the formation of the Philadelphia (Ph1) chromosome and is present in most of CML patients.
