Abstract excerpt
Bovine articular chondrocytes cultured in agarose gel in the presence of serum elaborated a highly organized extracellular matrix rich in proteoglycans and collagens. The cultures were evaluated quantitatively by radiosulfate labeling of proteoglycans, and by densitometry following staining with alcian blue.
