Glycerophosphocholine is formed via the deacylation of the phospholipid phosphatidylcholine. The protein encoded by Saccharomyces cerevisiae open reading frame YPL110c effects glycerophosphocholine metabolism in vivo, most likely by acting as a glycerophosphocholine phosphodiesterase.
