Eosinophil cationic protein (ECP) is a ribonuclease secreted from activated eosinophils that may cause tissue injure as a result of eosinophilic inflammation. ECP possesses bactericidal, antiviral and helminthotoxic activity and inhibits mammalian cell growth.
