Stromal cell-Derived Factor-1 (SDF-1, CXCL12) is one the ELR- CXC angiogenic chemokines. It contributes to hematopoiesis and lymphocyte trafficking. SDF-1 and its exclusive receptor, CXCR4, are reported to play important roles in tumor growth, angiogenesis and metastasis of different types of tumors such as breast, lung, prostate and pancreatic cancers.
