Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) increases the risk of cardiovascular disease later in life. Vascular dysfunction occurs in adult offspring from animal models of IUGR including maternal undernutrition, but the influence of reduced fetal oxygen supply on adult vascular function is unclear.
