Glucose-6-phosphate isomerase (GPI), recognized as an autoantigen in the K/BxN arthritis model, is a ubiquitous cytoplasmic enzyme. Anti-GPI antibodies (Abs) are also detected in the serum of patients with arthritic diseases including rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
