The study of the electronic conduction through plastocyanin (PC) mutants assembled on a gold surface has been addressed by scanning tunneling spectroscopy. The two mutants exploit a single thiol group (PCSH) or a disulfide bridge (PCSS) to covalently bind at gold surface.
