Thrombin-activable fibrinolysis inhibitor (TAFI) is a recently described inhibitor of fibrinolysis. The aim of this study was to estimate the risk of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) caused by the polymorphisms in the TAFI gene in relation to polymorphisms of the other fibrinolytic variables such as PAI-844A>G and t-PA-7,351C>T.
