Auxotrophic mutations in the methylotrophic yeast strain Candida boidinii 11Bh were induced by different mutagens and their combinations (nitrosoguanidine, UV light, HNO2+UV). Majority of the mutants obtained carried defects in histidine, arginine, proline and/or adenine biosynthetic pathways.
