Glucocorticoids and nerve growth factor (NGF) have been shown to have antagonistic effects on chromaffin cells in vivo. Here we determined the effect of the synthetic glucocorticoid, dexamethasone, on levels of mRNA for the nerve growth factor receptor (NGFR) in rat PC12 pheochromocytoma cells.
