Cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) is expressed at low levels in nonepithelial cells. Recently, we demonstrated that CFTR is responsible for cell cycle-dependent adenosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate-responsive Cl- permeability in lymphocytes.
