Adult cardiac muscle normally expresses a single cardiac troponin T (cTnT). As a potential pathogenic mechanism for turkey dilated cardiomyopathy, the splice-out of a normally constitutive exon generates an additional low molecular weight cTnT with altered conformation and function.
