Plasma homocysteine levels result from the effect of genetic and environmental factors. We investigated the hypothesis of familial association between folates, methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) and hyperhomocysteinemia with acute events, studying three families through pedigree analysis and log-linear graphical models.
