The C type natriuretic peptide (CNP) is a peptide hormone stimulating vasorelaxation and inhibiting cell proliferation. CNP activates the type B natriuretic peptide receptor (NPR-B), known as the guanylate cyclase B membrane enzyme, which results in the cGMP release.
