OBJECTIVE: To explore the role of p16 gene in the pathogenesis of AML. METHODS: PCR-SSCP and Northern blot were used to analyse the structure and mRNA expression of p16 gene in 16 cases of AML. RESULTS: No deletion or mutation of p16 gene were found in all of the 16 cases.
