Antibacterial activities of gatifloxacin (AM1155), a new C-8-methoxy fluoroquinolone, and two structurally related compounds, AM1121 and ciprofloxacin, were studied with an isogenic set of ten quinolone-resistant, gyrA (gyrase) mutants of Escherichia coli.
