We isolated a Schizosaccharomyces pombe (Sz. pombe) gene encoding the counterpart of the TFIIH subunit Homo sapiens (H. sapiens) p44 and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S. cerevisiae) SSL1, and we named this gene product p47.
