The publication titled “Personalized Hip Assistance to Improve Gait Performance in Individuals with Parkinson’s Disease” prompts a specific loading question: was hip joint contact force estimated, and if so, how sensitive was that estimate to the assumed muscle recruitment strategy? Inverse dynamics yields net joint moments, not a direct measurement of internal joint force. Assistance can change kinematics and net moments while model assumptions still determine the inferred contact load. Reporting sensitivity across plausible recruitment or musculoskeletal parameter choices would clarify whether any loading conclusion survives the model specification.
