Erwinia rhapontici, causal agent of pink seed of pea and other crops, was found in seed samples from commercial lucerne (Medicago sativa) seeds imported from Canada in 2002 and 2003. The seed samples were stored at 5°C and 55% moisture content at the Quality Supervision and Inspection Centre for Forage and Turf Grass Seeds, Agricultural Ministry, Lanzhou, China.
