China is the world’s largest pear producer with 65.7% of the fruit production and 72.3% of the planted acreage. In the spring of 2019, a postharvest mold was observed at an incidence of 3 to 5% on pear (Pyrus bretschneideri) fruits at local markets in Beijing, China.
