<h4>Background</h4> Sepsis is a systemic inflammatory syndrome (SIRS) caused by acute microbial infection with high mortality rate. The role of tumour necrosis factor α (TNF-α)-induced necroptosis in promoting the pathophysiology of sepsis has been identified.
