Myrosinases (thioglucoside glucohydrolase, EC 3.2.3.1) are able to hydrolyse glucosinolates in natural plant products. In Arabidopsis thaliana three different genes with different tissue-specific expressions and distribution patterns encode myrosinases. cDNAs of myrosinase genes (TGG1 and TGG2) were isolated from A. thaliana and expressed in Escherichia coli and Pichia pastoris.
