Basella alba L. is an annual herb found in tropical Asia and Africa where it is widely used as a leaf vegetable. It is rich in vitamins A and C, iron, and calcium (FAO 1988). In September 2017, lesions were observed on young and mature leaves of B. alba in Chongzhou County (30°63′ N, 103°67′ E), Sichuan Province, China.
